Finneran has recently patented Vials (VISTA Vial) for autosamplers which allow easier introduction of the sample to be analyzed.

These new vials are made of two parts, the lower part in glass and the upper part in polyethylene. Once joined they become a normal 12×32 mm vial.

In this way the mouth of the glass part, where the sample is deposited, is much wider and therefore facilitates the introduction of products that are particularly difficult to sample such as very viscous liquids or in the presence of foam.

To close the screw polyethylene part, the use of 9mm or 11mm caps is permitted.

After the analysis, the upper part can be disposed of together with the caps, as they are both made of plastic, thus avoiding manual removal of the same.
